papa's safely back!

Mak Uda, Maya and I went to KLIA this morning to see Papa while he was on transit. He arrived with his colleague from Pakistan at about 8.20 am and were supposed to board the Royal Brunei Airlines flight to Brunei Darussalam before 2.30 pm. We hung around the departure floor and talked until it was time to board the plane. While they were checking in, the three of us were starting our trip to Port Dickson. Thankful that Papa is back safely. =]

best of luck!

Good luck to my dearest cousin IKA on your SPM examination. I know you can fly colours.
So, go ahead and make us proud!

people come and....stay?

Why can't we get all the people in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say goodbye. But where is the 'good' in goodbye? I hate goodbyes.

John Gay said that we only part to meet again. Richard Bach was on the same boat. He claimed that we shall not be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.

I'm only quoting them to make myself feel better about farewells. Although, I guess it didn't work. I still hate goodbyes. It's true that people come and go. It has always been that way and I still have a problem with the 'go' part. Why can't they just come and never go? Why can't it be 'people come and stay'?

Maybe they were right. Maybe people do part so they can meet again. Maybe. After all, the irony of people is that sometimes they only see things that are not or no longer there.

CAUTION : brain activity overload!

Friday, November 7th, 9.00 am - 12.00 pm.

That was the longest 3 hours I have ever been in and with the passing of that extensively long hours, my long walk along the path of examinations have officially ended. I'm glad to be back. I haven't had a proper sleep since the past 36 hours even though my brain was already begging me to stop thinking. It's like a RIOT in there.

The thing is, as much as I wanted to shut my body down, my mind wouldn't let me. Now it just feels so good to be free again. Only three words to describe how I feel:

I.NEED.SLEEP

It's payback time!

(wake me up when november ends)

Papa, please be safe..

As I'm preparing for my final exams which starts on the 3rd of November, my father is busy preparing for his flight to Pakistan on the same day. He will be flying there as a journalist on duty. It's good to know that he is doing something that he loves. What worries me is his safety over there.

Just yesterday, I heard over the news that southwest Pakistan was shaken by a 6.4 magnitude quake. Before that, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Muzaffarabad in Pakistan. This is really starting to make me worried. To add to the already intense worry, there is a possibility that he is also going to Afghanistan. Now this is going to make me worried sick. Afghanistan is not a safe country to be in right now. Also from the news yesterday, I found out there was a suicide bombing which happened somewhere in the country and this is not the only one. Several bombings had happened in Afghanistan.

To Papa, while you are there, always remember that 2753 miles from you, your beloved daughter will always love you, hoping you are in great condition, praying for your health and safety. So please take care and be safe...

KKK AGM & DINNER and The Brodic Acapella

I managed to find some time in my hectic schedule to post about a dinner that I attended recently. Purple was the theme of this year's Annual Grand Meeting & Dinner for Kelab Kebudayaan & Kesenian (KKK), a well known club for those with artistic souls in UMP. The grand function was held at Vistana Hotel on the 25th of October 2008. A total of 4 buses filled with UMP students were chauffeured to the hotel at 6.30 pm.

The luxurious ceremony started at 8.00 pm attended by VVIP guests from UMP itself. The event includes the disbandment of the former Supreme Council and the inauguration of the new line of Supreme Council. There was also a recap of the club's annual activities and economics.

After all that, came the part that we were all actually there for. The part where we can enjoy the food! The concept of the menu was International Buffet and there were names of dishes which I've never even heard of. As expected, the food was superb. After dinner the guests were served with a musical performance by UMP's Orquesta, an orchestra group also under KKK. Hotel California was really swaying the house.

After the performance by Orquesta, people were already busy taking photos, capturing memories in a still picture. Loads of photos were taken by loads of camera. Kak Dalina alone was using 2 DSLRs.

However, the most memorable part was when The Brodic Acapella sang 'Happy Birthday' to my mother over the phone. Yes, it was also my mother's birthday (and no, I haven't forgotten it, ma) and they actually said 'mama'. Thanks Brodic Acapella for the spontaneous performance caused by a spontaneous request. =]
