another picnic!

I went for another picnic last weekend and this time it's with my groovy roomies! My roomies and I had planned for our girls'-day-out since last month. Early planning is pretty much necessary since it's very rare for all four of us to be available in the same weekend. So I told them about my picnic with Mr Kopi 'O' last month - I posted about it here - and since they are all also fans of picnics and parties, we all agreed to have a picnic party by the beach. I wanted to let them taste the famous Gelora Curry Puff I had mentioned and my most favourite burger of all time - Burgermbira!

So we left UMP at about 11 am and were headed for Kuantan right away. We did a little bit of shopping before heading to Taman Gelora at about 4.30 pm for the fluffy curry puffs. We settled on the far end of Teluk Chempedak beach where there are not as many people compared to the other parts of the beach. We had so much fun eating in the friendly breeze while posing for the camera. It was definitely a blast!

i can be very emotional.

and when i'm being that emotional wreck i would usually prefer to be alone.

i would rather keep quiet.

because only in such silence i can hear myself think.

and being silent has become a therapy.

a habit during those wobbly times, to be exact.

and i have become used to that sound.

the sound of nothingness.

nothing but the thoughts in my head.

i can be very expressive.

and when i'm being expressive i always know what i'm saying.

until i reach the point where nothing i say makes sense.

when words could no longer portray how i feel inside.

for those times, i would cry.

because that is the only way i know left to let it go.

the only outlet for what has built up inside me.

and i hate to be seen crying.

so i would rather be alone.

i can be very simple.

i could care less about the things that would bother me.

about the things that contradict happiness and peace.

as long as i know what is going on around me.

as long as i know the truth, no matter how bitter it is.

or else, i would make assumptions.

speculations that can either be true or false.

my imagination can go beyond expectations.

when that happens, i can turn so complicated people would not understand me.

and to avoid any complications with the communication i have with people, i would choose to be alone.

i am so used to being alone.

so used to handling things myself.

in my own way.

because i used to be alone.

i used to handle things myself.

in my own way.

i guess i am so accustomed to being independent that i forget.

i forget that i now have people around me.

people that actually care.

people that actually worry.

and during those emotional times where the only thing i think about is my selfish self and the little things that bother me, i unintentionally ignored them.

and i'm sorry.

if i were in a more sane state, this is what i would really say:

thank you for staying by my side. even though it seemed like i didn't want you there.

the truth is i needed it. so i know that whatever happens, you will be there for me.

thank you for holding my hand all the way through. even though i didn't hold yours back.

the truth is i didn't have the strength. but at least i know that when i reach the point of giving up, you will never let me.

thank you for singing through those silent moments. even though i'm used to the sound of nothingness.

the truth is it's actually calming. and it reminds me that i'm not alone anymore.

ini untuk NURUL SYAZRIN! ♥ [part 2]

Nurul Syazrin selalu cakap yang dia rindukan kami.

'Kami' as in Apit, Akmal, Syidek, Che Am, En. B dan saya.

'Kami' sek2 Kuantan.

Saya pun cakap kat dia,

'Yenn, nanti Eqa cari kotak besar yang boleh muat Kami + Kuantan. Lepas tu kitorang akan hantar ke Kuala Terengganu guna Pos Laju.'

Jadi saya pun mula mencari kotak yang cukup besar dan boleh muat kami semua.

Sebab saya nak semua duduk ramai2 sama2.

Dah banyak kotak yang saya reject sebab tak cukup besar.

Kotak yang paling besar saya jumpa pun besar ni...

Kotak donut yang boleh muat Kami dengan selesa.

Ironiknya kotak donut kan?

Tapi masih tak muat nak sumbat Kuantan.

'Macam mana Yenn? Yang ni boleh ke?'

kami impikan...

saya dan kawan-kawan saya impikan sebuah van Volkswagen klasik yang rupanya lebih kurang macam ni

kami ingat nak cari van macam ni dan kongsi duit beli. dan bila kami dah dapat cari van yang gila comel ni, kami nak namakan dia VAN KITA. kami nak beli cat warna-warni, isi belon2 kecil dengan cat yang kami beli tu, bawa kereta ni ke tengah2 kawasan letak kereta atau pantai (atau belakang rumah siapa2) dan baling belon2 berisi cat tu ke van yang kami kongsi2 beli tu. bila dah selesai main baling2 cat kereta tu akan nampak meriah dan ceria macam kami2 juga.

lebih kurang macam ni la design kereta tu bila dah dibaling2 dengan cat tapi dijamin lagi comel dari kereta dalam gambar diatas. dan kalau kami ada duit lebih2 sikit kami ingat nak ubahsuai interior van ni biar selesa sikit. kalau nak mewah lagi boleh la tukar jadi macam ni.

tapi kemewahan interior tak adalah penting sangat. yang penting keselesaan penumpang bila van ni digunakan untuk tour atau roadtrip ke mana2 pulau atau konsert. bila dah ada van ni nanti senang nak gerak ke mana2. senang nak buka puasa kat Teluk Cempedak atau Tanjung Lumpur. senang nak sahur dekat Gambang Point atau Al-Falah. senang nak pergi bercuti di Genting Highlands atau Pulau Redang. senang nak pergi menonton persembahan teater di Istana Budaya atau Stor DBP. senang nak pergi roadtrip spontaneous yang saja2 tanpa apa2 plan.

sampai jugak kowg ke UMP kan!

Alkisah hari Jumaat yang lepas dua orang sahabat lama aku dari zaman KMK dulu berniat datang ke UMP kerana konsert amal MATAHARI yang ada Faizal Tahir, Farah AF & Amy Search. Setelah selesai test untuk hari itu mereka pun dengan gigihnya berangkat dari Johor. Tapi malang nasib mereka hanya sempat masuk dewan ketika Amy tengah nyanyi lagu terakhir - Isabella. Apa2 pun, konsert tu memang best and memang seronok ada mereka kat sini. HOYEH!

kuatkan semangat.

Pagi tadi aku dapat satu berita buruk. Aku kehilangan sesuatu yang aku sayang. Kepada sesiapa yang suatu masa dulu sering berkata2 dan mempersendakan tentang ini kepada aku seolah2 mendoakan ianya berlaku, puaslah hati kamu! Memang ini yang kamu mahu kan?

Satu demi satu berita aku terima dan tiada satu pun yang gembira. Aku terima panggilan yang mengejutkan sekali lagi. Kali kedua untuk hari ini. Seorang sahabat-sampai-mati aku sedang dalam waktu yang amat sukar baginya. Aku yang mendengar pun dah tak tertahan sebak di dada. Tapi dia masih dengan semangatnya. Ya, itu memang salah satu kekuatan dia.

Kepada sahabat-sampai-mati itu, kuatkan semangat. Ingat segala ujian dari Allah itu ada hikmahnya. Aku doakan semuanya akan kembali pulih seperti sediakala. Bila2 kau perlukan aku, roger.

a little reunion

After going through several plans on how to spend this new year's eve, I finally decided to celebrate it with my best friends since high school: Ady, Ummi and Jad. They were my classmates back when I was studying in Puteri Wilayah and has been my BFFs ever since. Allow me to introduce:

Siti Nur Hadikhah aka Ady. The first girl who ever talked to me in Puteri Wilayah. She was one of my nine classmates back then and is now studying in UM. She was also my roommate for over a year when we were in high school. She can get excited over anything and everyone. A bit quirky and blur sometimes. The kind that is not bothered by small matters. She's a friend you can always count on for good advice.

Ummi Ainon Erda aka Ummi (or some people call her Eda). She's currently studying in USIM. We also went to Kedah Matriculation College together. When you first saw her you'll probably say she's arrogant and unfriendly but you'll realize that you were very wrong once you get to know her. ~~Small~~ Petite like myself. Very, very, very, very.....very talkative. She can talk real fast - which I am also capable of - and sometimes when we talk nobody else understands. It's fun and I love her for that. She makes a very good confidante.

Siti Jadirah aka Jad. She's the tallest among the four of us but still she's the shortest in her family (yes, we are all very cute people). I stayed at her house for about a year during my high school years. Being the last one to join us in Puteri Wilayah, she came around as the kind of girl that always do things her way. Very determined once she sets her mind to something. She might not know that she's one of my source of strength being the strong person that she is. She's studying in UiTM now.
However, Jad couldn't join us for the celebration because of her family affairs.

So it was just the three of us. It's been quite some time since we last gathered together so it was like a little reunion. Ady and I went to The Mines together and we hung around and had our late lunch at the Secret Recipe. Ummi joined us a little after lunch and we drove straight to Alamanda. We had dinner - again, at the Secret Recipe since Ummi didn't get to join us for lunch - and later went for a midnight serving of Alvin & The Chipmunks 2. The chipmunks - and the chipettes - were all so cute! We headed out of Putrajaya at around 2:15 am. Something interesting happened when we stopped by the Nilai Toll surau but I guess that will be just among the three of us. We then decided to crash at Ummi's place. We had the most fun ever!

i'm awesome! ahakz

I'm an awesome blog buddy. YEAY! I would like to thank all my readers yang gigih baca what I wrote (walaupun lately dah kurang frequency meng-update). Bagus2. Teruskan kegigihan anda ek. Because I'm nobody without you guys. Wahh.. ayat memang cannot go. Translate ayat Azim je pun. Haha. Speaking of, thanks to Azim for making me awesome. Ahakz!

Okay, enough thanks already. As usual, there's always a catch. So let's see what this one brings us.

First of all, I have to state 5 interesting things about Azim (since he's the one who said I'm awesome). Well, I've only known him since I joined Kencana Pawana so I don't really know much about him. But I'm gonna try my best. Hehe.

He's a choreographer for Kencana Pawana. Cool eh?
He's quiet but laughs a lot.
His face can get really red when he laughs.
He's a final year student.
He was the former leader of Kencana Pawana.

Okay. I admit that I couldn't tell much. Most of it relates to Kencana Pawana anyways. But what can I say. That's where I know him. Hurmm... For the second part, I have to tell 10 things about myself. Although I've done this one before here, I feel like I'm in the mood to tell 10 other things about me. Here goes, I:

Am currently in my second year at UMP.
Am thinking of buying a pet tortoise and name him MOMO.
Love bracelets. Especially wooden ones.
Am currently enjoying dancing with Kencana Pawana.
Dream of having my own coffee shop.
Miss ice-skating so much.
Wonder when I'll be going to Genting Highlands again.
Have an autographed KoKen script. (Thanks to Daoz)
Love beaches a lot.
Am developing OCD. I think.

We had a GREAT time that day. Then again, we have great times whenever we are together. So dear roomies, this is a post especially to say how much I appreciate you guys for always being there. For better or for worse. I LOVE YOU GUYS! And you too Nayya!

how to start your RAMADHAN

It's the first day of Ramadhan so my roomies and I decided to go break our fast somewhere out of the ordinary. Yes, the cafeteria food can be pretty boring. So we went to Tanjung Lumpur with some friends.

The eight of us got there around six and after booking a table and placing our orders we went to the beach.

I've been to Tanjung Lumpur a few times before but I've never been to the beach since we only came at night. So I was a bit excited when I saw the beach. You know how I LOVE beaches. So we played around on the beach and made full use of Ramlah's camera.

When it was about time for Maghrib we went back to the restaurant to break our fast. It was fun and we had a great time posing for the camera. Most of my friends are probably at home enjoying their first day of fasting with their families. Well, I can't go home this weekend but I'm sure glad that these people are here.

saye hapat hunge santek!

Thanks to Daoz, I got my own Flip Flap for free! Heee.. He mentioned it in his blog. We really liked the cute little Flippy Flap that flips and flaps when it gets sunlight. I wanted to buy one at the pasar malam that day but Daoz insisted that he only wants the one from Mesra Mall. (Padahal sama je bendanya. Ketidakfahaman di situ). So when he went back to Kemaman he bought two of those cute thingy and I got mine when he got back from Kemaman. Yippee..!

Out of boredom, I went through my pictures' folder randomly and found the ones from Jejak Warisan '09 for which we went to Seri Menanti, Negeri Sembilan starting May 1st until the 3rd. The pictures made me smile =]
